Advice:
- The PC's performances, especialy on the display level, are
deteriorated if you display the office as a Web page. (Active
Desktop).
- If the picture sparkles, you have to activate in the camera's
configuration panel the anti-sparkeling option (if possible).
- For Philips' ToUCam cameras, you have to desactivte the all
automatic option.
- For the DirectX display, performances are better if the display
is set in 32 bits mode (accessible from Window's dialogue box
'display properties/Settings').
Video quality problems

You can't see your correspondant
if you cannot see your correspondant, make him check the
following things:
- His camera is not plugged in,
- His camera is not selected (eConf's video configuration),
- His camera's drivers are not compatible with eConf,
- Your correspondant has cut his video off,
- You have clicked on the button 'Hide remote video',
- You have unticked the option 'recieve the video' (eConf's video
configuration),
- Your correspondant is not transmitting any video (no activated
video channel).
The pictures are jerked
If the pictures are jerked, check the following things:
- The used throughput is too weak,
- The video format uses too much CPU (CIF format): eConf's team
advises to use the 'large video format' when the network's
throughput is superior to 256 Kbps ( Netissimo pro+ offers such a
throughput). If the throughput is inferior, you have to then untick
the options 'receive large video',
- Your PC is not performant enough (Pentium III 500 MHz minimum
required),
- The video drivers are of poor quality.
Displayal problem of the video that is set for large format
(CIF)
The problem can be due to a bad version of the video/camera
driver. If this happens, we advise you to update the pilot for your
graphic/camera card if the latter appears in the list of problem
cards/cameras.
Video display enlarged on a quarter of the window
This can be due to a camera/video driver problem, or a bad
version of NetMeeting ( econf has been validated with the 3.0
version of netmeeting).
If you have this kind of problem, there are 3 possible
solutions:
- If you are in ''application sharing'' mode, we advise you to
quit it, and relaunch a communication,
- Update NetMeeting, the latest version is available on
microsoft's Web site,
- Otherwise, go on to your chipset/graphic card/camera's
constructor site to update your driver.
Full screen diisplay unavailable
The 'full screen display' mode is not available when you use the
'application sharing' mode. To use this mode, untick the option
'share applications' in the 'call' tab of eConf's configuration
panel.
Problem of video issue after prolonged use of eConf
In all cases, check that you have the latest driver version for
your camera. If not:
- If you use a Logitech webcam, you just have to refresh your
preview window by alternating clicks between 'Stop my video' and
'Start my video',
- If you use a Philips ToUcam webcam, we advise you to quit
eConf, to unplug and replug in the webcam and restart econf. You
must start again your video configuration (video tab on eConf's
configuration panel),
- If you have this kind of problem with an aquisition card, we
advise you to reboot your machine and start your video
configuration again (video tab of eConf's configuration
panel).
